Make your own Polyjuice Potion

"The Polyjuice Potion, which is a complex and time-consuming concoction, is best left to highly skilled witches and wizards. It enables the consumer to assume the physical appearance of another person, as long as they have first procured part of that individual's body to add to the brew (this may be anything — toenail clippings, dandruff or worse — but it is most usual to use hair). The idea that a witch or wizard might make evil use of parts of the body is an ancient one, and exists in the folklore and superstitions of many cultures. The effect of the potion is only temporary, and depending on how well it has been brewed, may last anything from between ten minutes and twelve hours. You can change age, sex, and race by taking the Polyjuice Potion, but not species."

There are a number of different ways to achieve a great tasting, aesthetically pleasing Polyjuice Potion.

Option 1

Homemade lemonade:
Makes about 2L

- 350g granulated sugar
- 250mL water
- 1.5 litres water
- 375ml fresh lemon juice (about 8 lemons)
- Neon Green food colouring - as needed.

Put the sugar and 250mL water into a saucepan over a low heat.  Slowly bring to the boil and stir to dissolve the sugar.
Turn off the heat and allow to cool for 5-10 minutes.  Pour into a 2L jug, and refrigerate until cold.

Squeeze the lemons using a juicer, discard any pips, you can save the pulp to add to the juice later.

Once the sugar syrup is cold, add the lemon juice, water and food colouring.  You can also add some of the pulp - as much or as little as you like.

Chill in the fridge, serve over ice with a lemon/lime wedge.  Add Gin / Vodka if you feel so inclined.

Option 2

Fruit Smoothie
Serves 2

The spinach is what makes this smoothie green, swap in other fruits if you don't like pineapple or mango - Kiwi, Papaya, Apricot, Peach etc. the possibilities are endless. Make sure at least one of your fruits is frozen in order to chill the smoothie, or serve over ice.

- 2 cups of fresh spinach leaves
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup pineapple
- 1 cup mango (frozen)
- 2 ripe bananas
- a squeeze of lime

Blitz the spinach and water together in a blender until there are no leafy lumps left.
Add the rest of your fruit and blitz until smooth.

Option 3

There are many green coloured cocktails available out there, you will find a selection HERE - that can double up as alcoholic Polyjuice Potion!
